Warriors in control?

The Zimbabwe Senior National soccer side, the Warriors finally conducted their training session following yesterday’s boycott after a money dispute with local football governing body ZIFA.
Warriors team manager Ernest Sibanda confirmed to ZimEye that the warriors conducted their training session and that the money issue was now water under the bridge.
“All the players that we called in came and they had their training session today. They are looking sharp and rearing to get victory. We had a small internal problem yesterday with players refusing to train but that has been solved and everyone is ready for the game,” he said.
“It was unfortunate what happened yesterday and I have to apologise to all Zimbabweans. These things happen in football across the world, but the players are really eager to play because this is a make or break tie,” added Sibanda.
The team stand in captain Zvenyika Makonese confirmed that the monetary issue that had resulted in the training boycott had been solved.
“Ma players azotaurirana ne vakuru vakawiriran saka tangomirira kuti tinotamba Sunday towina. The players talked to the bosses and agreed so we are just waiting for the game on Sunday, said the Captain
Soccer fans have however expressed disappointment with the governing body which they said should have been at hand to ensure that problems of this nature do not occur more so at crucial matches like these.
“They know the money’s that should be paid, if they don’t have why not just ask for help,” said one irate fan.
Sources within the warriors camp say morale in camp is not as high given that there are complaints about other outstanding bonuses from the last match against Namibia and Kenya. Coach Valinhos said the recent episode is highly detrimental to Sunday’s match.
“This is a very big game and we need to be prepared,” he said.
Meanwhile Guinea is already in the country and held their training session yesterday at Gwanzura Stadium.
