The MP elect for Chegutu West Takalani Matibe has been arrested and his home destroyed after opposition leader Morgan Tsvangirai had visited his home in Chegutu on Thursday morning.
Tsvangirai was on a victory tour in Chegutu and he passed through the home of Matibe.
Thousands of people came out to greet Tsvangirai but soon after he left Matibe's residence was attacked by a group of ZANU PF supporters.
In a statement, the MDC information department said the house was severely damaged and property whose value is yet to be ascertained was looted.
Meanwhile, the rural home of Kwekwe MP, Blessing Chebundo was razed down by fire Wednesday in Kazangarare, Hurungwe in the Mashonaland West Province North West of Harare by suspected ZANU PF supporters.
No one has been arrested as yet and police could not confirm the incident.
MDC spokesperson Nelson Chamisa said armed ZANU PF supporters attacked the homestead on Wednesday night.
